How We Designed A Modern Laundry Room

What Was Important For Our Customer’s Laundry Room Storage Cabinets?

Vertical Tall Storage Cabinets

The first way the above aims were achieved was by opting for a tall cupboard for the ironing board. It’s easy to overlook the cupboard for ironing board and hoover as part of your laundry or utility room design. However, there is a need to have a tall and slim cabinet for the ironing board which fits the specific dimensions of all your laundry accessories. Also, by adding vertical tall storage cabinets, the ironing board storage cupboard benefits from being immediately next to the washer and dryer for ease of use.

Integration With Sink Base Cabinets

You’ll see in the above image that our customer created a seamless look across one wall by mixing and matching laundry cabinets with sink base cabinets.

When choosing utility cabinets for the laundry room there is often a desire to add in a sink for handwashing clothes and similar tasks. This can easily be achieved by pairing a sink and worktop with base cabinets. Our base cabinets for the laundry room are available in various heights and can be integrated with additional laundry units.

Folding Surface

Endless functionality has been added to our customer’s laundry units to make the process of doing laundry much easier. For instance, a pull out washing machine tray creates a practical surface to fold laundry on so that clothes can easily be put away.

Being Patient (And Prepared!) When Starting With A Blank Canvas

Any stunning ‘after’ home makeover pictures can’t come without a bit of elbow grease. When you first start a laundry room renovation, you have to be prepared to strip everything back to basics.

Crucially, you need to identify what utility connections there are in the room as this will form the base of your design. While it is sometimes possible to re-reroute water or electricity supplies, this can be costly so think about your overall budget. Also be prepared for unexpected surprises, especially if you’ve just moved into the property.

After taking a good look at the drainage to ensure everything was in working order, our customer kept things chic and simple with neutral walls and floors. The green accent wall was then painted after the appliances and laundry units were installed.

As noted at the start, it was important for our client to reach a number of objectives to create a sleek and high functionality laundry space.

Looking at the finished project, you can really appreciate how the excellent finish of the walls and floors complements our laundry cabinets.

In terms of the added functionality, laundry room built in cabinets aren’t just for housing washers and dryers. Instead, you can see how our customer has incorporated an ironing board cupboard along with other storage to ensure everything can be kept neat and tidy.

Colour wise, our customer opted for white laundry cabinets. However, all items pictured are also available as black wall cabinets for the laundry room too.
